Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist
Rezan A Kadir is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a subspecialty in Fetal Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital in London, UK. She is also a Specialist Consultant in women with bleeding disorders at the hospital, and an Honorary Reader with the University College School of Medicine. She has set up a multi-disciplinary clinic in the hemophilia center at the Royal Free Hospital, which is jointly run with a hemophilia specialist, hemophilia nurse and family counselor and therapists. This clinic has been unique in providing comprehensive care for women in families with bleeding disorders. She is also leading several clinical and laboratory projects in this field. Dr Kadir is a co-author of Inherited Bleeding Disorders in Women, published in 2009. She has given presentations at numerous international congresses, and has authored or co-authored many peer-reviewed publications on fetal medicine and bleeding disorders in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr Kadir has written national guidelines for management of obstetrics and gynecological problems in women with bleeding disorders, and is a reviewer for several journals, including Haemophilia, International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, O&G, JOG, STH, Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, British Journal of Haematology and others. Dr Kadir is the Chair of the ‘Women Bleed Too’ board of the Haemophilia Society, UK, which includes key professionals and women affected with bleeding disorders. The board aims to create a society in which bleeding disorders are a recognized condition among women and appropriate treatment and support are offered to all those diagnosed. She is also a member of several national and international societies, including the International Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, World Federation of Hemophilia, Women Health Issues in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, British Maternal and Fetal Medicine Society, and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and many others. Her work in the field of women and bleeding disorders has been well recognized internationally and she is regarded as a world expert in the field. Her name was included in the 2009 edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare 2009-2010.
